Alec Baldwin's wife, Hilaria, had told his fans in an Instagram post that the procedure was 'long time necessary'

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Alec Baldwin was spotted walking the streets of New York City holding a crutch on Friday, June 10. This is his first outing after he underwent a hip replacement in May.

The 65-year-old actor's wife, Hilaria, had shared a photo of the actor recovering in a hospital following the surgery, which she said was "long time necessary." The 'Beetlejuice' actor appeared to be in good spirits and has been able to keep himself fit despite his medical issues.

A casual day out

Baldwin sported a casual look that consisted of a black t-shirt with a charcoal button-up shirt over it. He left his left sleeve unbuttoned to accommodate the crutch's arm cuff. He had on a pair of black trousers and shiny black leather penny loafers. The three-time Golden Globe Award winner was also seen carrying a black jacket in his right hand.

'Alec got a new hip today'

Hilaria had put up a post on Instagram after Baldwin underwent the surgery. "Alec got a new hip today…it was a long time necessary," she captioned the photo. In the photo, she was seen posing next to Baldwin, who was in a hospital gown. She said that the procedure was crucial to improve his "quality of life." "We have been through so much together … as your partner and as you heal, I want so very much for you to leave this very intense chronic pain chapter behind," she said before expressing her gratitude to nurses, doctors, and other people who looked after the actor after his operation.

Alec Baldwin reaches settlement with Halyna Hutchins' son

Speaking about Baldwin's 'Rust' trial, on June 1, a judge officially agreed to a settlement the actor had reached with the son of the movie's cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. While a settlement was reached in October 2022, it was delayed as a judge had not yet approved it. The results of the settlement for the child were kept confidential.

Hutchins was 42 when she died after being shot when a gun held by Baldwin accidentally discharged. The accident happened during rehearsal and the director, Joel Souza, was injured as well, but he survived. Baldwin always maintained his innocence, claiming never pulled the trigger. Prosecutors in New Mexico dropped involuntary manslaughter charges against the actor in April.
