The rapper pleaded guilty to battery and firing a gun at or into an occupied building after being initially accused of attempted murder

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Rapper Blueface was sentenced to probation for up to 3 years as part of his plea agreement on Monday, October 2, 2023, for an attempted murder case coming from an incident that occurred in October 2022, outside the Las Vegas strip club Euphoric Gentlemen's Club.

The rapper, whose real name is Johnathan Porter, was first detained in November 2022 on charges of attempting to murder someone with a deadly weapon and firing a gun at or into an occupied building.

As part of the plea agreement, the attempted murder allegation was ultimately withdrawn, and Porter pleaded guilty to the charges of violence and discharge of a firearm in July.

According to KNTV, the 26-year-old musician was sentenced after pleading guilty to violence and firing a gun in July in exchange for the prosecution dropping the attempted murder and gun possession by a forbidden person charges.

Judge Kathleen E Delaney of the Clark County District Court sentenced the Los Angeles native to up to 36 months of probation, during which time he is not allowed to possess any weapons or use alcohol or narcotics.

In addition, he is forbidden from avoiding the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown Las Vegas unless he has job commitments there.

Kentabius Traylor, the victim in the case, was also given a court order by Blueface to refrain from contacting him, according to Daily Mail.

Blueface was recently accused of felony robbery in Clark County, Nevada. The new accusation arises from an apparent incident with a fan who allegedly attempted to use a cellphone to record Blueface's former girlfriend Chrisean Rock.

Internet outraged over Blueface's probation sentence instead of imprisonment

While Blueface had been spared the taste of a prison sentence and given only 3 years of probation, the internet erupted over the fake news of the rapper's incarceration.

Say Cheese TV took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to reveal Blueface's probation announcement, "Blueface sentenced to 24 - 60 months in prison for grazing a man’s hand during a shooting outside of a Las Vegas strip club back in October 2022."

One X user explained, "They messed up with the headline here. Blueface isn't going to jail. He's been given 3 years of probation. If he screws up his probation, that's when he will be sentenced to 2-5 years in prison."

"Oh so Blueface is not even going to Jail he just got Probation? Lol," snarked another online user.

Another one exclaimed, "So blueface got a suspended sentence which means he’s basically on probation.. wtf."

"So did no one even bother to read before they started tweeting Blueface going to prison.. the sentence is suspended, it’s literally probation. Yall had me thinking we were finally free of the Blueface and Chrisean drama," noted one X user.

Another X user compared Blueface and Tory Lanez's scenarios and wrote, "Blueface got probation for grazing someone’s hand but Tory got ten years and allegedly grazing Megan’s foot wtf. This how you know it’s some bull."

"#ToryLanes Got 10yr Sentenced For The Same Shit Blueface Did But #blueface Gets 3yr Probation," one more drew a comparison between Lanez and Blueface.

Others shared funny images to mark the end of Blueface and Chrisean drama amid the rapper's 3 years probation.

One quipped, "FINALLY NO MORE BLUEFACE AND CRISEAN ROCK DRAMA"

How did Kentabius Traylor react to Blueface's probation announcement?

Porter is alleged to have fired a gun at Traylor in October 2022. Initial police reports claim Traylor noticed Porter as he was leaving the bar, "remarked on Blueface speaking with some females in a cheap vehicle," and "made an audible joke."

In his account, Traylor stated that guys who he thought were members of Porter's group attacked him before turning on him with gunfire as he tried to flee in his truck.

Traylor expressed his dissatisfaction with the rapper's retribution, adding that he knows "people who get more time for stealing bubblegum" and believes the rapper's short sentence was spurred on by his fame and wealth.

Traylor testified in court that the shooting "ruined his life" and interfered with his ability to get a job.

He claimed he had "completely lost faith in the justice system" and was "completely disappointed" with the court proceedings in the case.

Blueface was previously detained in California in November 2018 and charged with firing at an occupied vehicle after firing at a gas station robber.

In February 2019, he was also detained for felony gun possession after police found a loaded, unlicensed handgun in his hands.
