Brendan Schaub claimed that Joe Rogan continued to laud Munhoz despite Vera exerting more control during the bout

AUSTIN, TEXAS: Brendan Schaub, a former UFC heavyweight, was not happy with the commentary provided by Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier (DC), a former double champion, at UFC 292.

Schaub provided a review on 'The Schaub Show' and spoke about the pair's comments during the main-card fight between bantamweights Marlon 'Chito' Vera and Pedro Munhoz.

Brendan Schaub claims Marlon Vera had control over the fight

'DC' and Joe Rogan allegedly continued to laud Munhoz despite Vera exerting more control during the bout, according to Brendan Schaub. Additionally, according to Schaub, Marlon Vera won the fight easily and the huge volume striking was not as important as the damage done.

“I think Rogan and DC were a little off on the commentating there when they kept praising Pedro. He had high output and they’re like Chito's slow starts tend to hurt him and they kept alluding to that. Pedro had a lot of output which is good but it’s all about damage… Chito easily won that fight,” he said.

What’s next in the bantamweight division?

Following Sean O'Malley's stunning knockout of champion Aljamain Sterling in the second round of UFC 292's main event, Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier are extremely eager to see what happens next in the bantamweight division.

The fight was discussed by Rogan and Cormier at the pay-per-view's conclusion. The 56-year-old analyst called the division "murderers' row" and identified the prospective title rivals.

“What a division. I mean this division is just a murderers' row. It really really is. I believe Aljo’s probably going to stay in the division and try to get a rematch, but who knows, because you’ve got Merab [Dvalishvili] there, who’s his teammate and [Marlon] ‘Chito’ Vera fighting for the title. Petr Yan lost a very close decision loss to Sean O’Malley, he’s still in the hunt. Very, very intriguing fights for the champion,” Joe Rogan said.

Then, DC added his two cents and questioned whether Sean O'Malley could calm the turbulent division.

“So can Sean O’Malley be that guy? Can he be the guy that brings stability to this division? He’s got some great challengers, though. But after watching him defend takedowns in the way that he did, it’s hard to envision those guys just wrestling him,” he said.
