Britney Spears' memoir 'The Woman in Me' will be released on Tuesday, October 24

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears is finally opening up about her life in her forthcoming memoir as she claims in the book she had an abortion during her relationship with Justin Timberlake.

Stating that her pregnancy news was a "surprise" but not a "tragedy," the 41-year-old claimed, "I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated," read the excerpt obtained by People.

Britney Spears claimed Justin Timberlake 'wasn't happy about the pregnancy'

In the excerpt published on Tuesday, October 17, the pop singer wrote her ex-boyfriend was not ready to have a child at the time.

"Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young," she wrote.

"I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby. I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father," Spears added.

In 2002, Spears and Timberlake separated after three years of dating. The 'Cry Me a River' crooner later told Barbara Walters in an interview that the pop singer cheated on him.

However, Spears did not respond to the allegations.

Justin Timberlake is nervous about Britney Spears' bombshell memoir

According to Page Six, Timberlake is "concerned" about what the 'Toxic' singer will reveal in her memoir 'The Woman in Me' which is set to release on Tuesday, October 24.

"He’s very curious what she’ll reveal from their relationship. It's eating at him," said a source.

An insider told Us Weekly that the 'Mirrors' singer is "not going to be happy" and noted that Spears "goes after him hard."

Following the release of the documentary 'Framing Britney Spears' in 2021, Timberlake issued an apology for his actions as his controversial '20/20' interview resurfaced.

"I am deeply sorry for the times in my life where my actions contributed to the problem, where I spoke out of turn, or did not speak up for what was right," Timberlake apologized about Spears.

"I understand that I fell short in these moments and in many others and benefited from a system that condones misogyny and racism. As a man in a privileged position I have to be vocal about this," he continued.

"Because of my ignorance, I didn’t recognize it for all that it was while it was happening in my own life but I do not want to ever benefit from others being pulled down again. I can do better and I will do better," said the 'Sin Fin' singer.
