Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert said, 'I personally have never publicly claimed he was my father—but certainly, that allegation is out there'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: To establish his paternity as not being that of Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert, former WWE star Stan Lane had a second DNA test. Following a brief affair in the 1980s, the mother of the Republican lawmaker, Shawn Roberts Bentz, has long believed that the retired wrestler is the biological father of her daughter.

A court-ordered paternity test that Lane, then 69, underwent in 1990 revealed he was not Boebert's father. However, questions about the validity were raised when the lab technician who took his blood sample was found guilty of accepting a bribe to exchange vials in another case, and Bentz requested an investigation into Lane.

The results of a second test he ultimately agreed to undergo in May showed he was not the father of Rep Boebert, 36. In order to allay any worries, Lane, who later worked as a powerboat racing commentator, gave Boebert control of his DNA sample. On May 11, the findings showed that he was not her biological father, as per reports.

'I feel my otherwise good reputation has been tarnished considerably'

He sent a statement to PWInsider.com, a wrestling news website, via a close acquaintance, verifying the information. He said, "Once we both reviewed the results Lauren and I agreed that this matter is settled, and I accepted Lauren's apology on behalf of herself and her mother.his situation and the numerous false claims made against me over the years has been stressful for me and my family. I feel my otherwise good reputation has been tarnished considerably. I and other close members of my inner circle have been dragged into this as well," as reported by DailyMail.

'Stan Lane is not my biological father'

"Stan Lane is not my biological father," she recognized the findings and informed the Daily Beast. She said, "I personally have never publicly claimed he was my father—but certainly, that allegation is out there. The Toby Keith song, 'Who's Your Daddy' hits a bit differently now." Early in Lane's wrestling career, he lived in Florida and worked for Championship Wrestling when the complicated issue started.

He had a brief connection with Bentz and claimed to have received a letter accusing him of being Boebert's father after the baby was born in 1986. Two months after she was born, her mother filed for child support, and they proceeded through the Orange County court system, according to Salon. When Lane demanded the payment, Bentz was a full-time employee earning the then-minimum wage of $4 per hour at a convenience shop named Handy Way.
