A fan warned Sam Champion that it's 'not good' to be in the water after the meteorologist said that he had stitches on his shoulder

MIAMI, FLORIDA: Former ‘Good Morning America’ chief meteorologist Sam Champion was cautioned by a concerned fan of further injury after he went for his early morning ritual of taking a dip into the Florida ocean.

The 62-year-old is known for going live from his swim sessions in the ocean and taking the questions of his fans.

Recently, Champion was once again on one of his escapades in the Florida ocean and went live to show off the sunrise over the ocean from his time swimming.

Amid all the comments from diverse fans, one warned that Champion should not be in the water, especially after his “incision.”

Fan urges ‘GMA’ host Sam Champion to be careful while swimming in the ocean

The weatherman is a highly adventurous person who always surprises his fans and followers by taking their questions live on Instagram from the middle of the ocean.

In yet another swimming session, Champion was at it again, talking to his followers as they enjoyed the scenic look of the sun rising over the Florida Ocean.

Champion captioned his live, which he later saved as a post, “Morning! Just b4 sunrise!! #bringcoffee”

The TV star stood in front of lapping waves as the sun shone in the frame. "It's gorgeous," Champion said of the sunrise over the waves behind him in one of his Instagram stories.

While fans loved the gorgeous view, they were more concerned about Champion potentially putting himself in danger.

The former ‘GMA’ star had a recent injury that required stitches on his back, "about an inch and a half long right at the top of my shoulder." However, he felt safe being in the water as his husband, Rubem, "put a waterproof bandage on it."

The fan warned, “Not good Sam to be in the water!!”

He continued, “I have about a 4" and about 15 stitches from melanomas! The doctor told me no bath, swimming, or the ocean!!! I get the stitches out on Thursday then I go back to have more cut out because he did not get it ALL!! PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL!”

However, as he read a concerned fan's comment about an infection, he said that he "probably will" go into the water because he's "that big of an idiot" and he "can't be in the water and not get in the water."

Sam Champion made a recent appearance on ‘GMA’

Only recently, the 'Eyewitness News Mornings' co-anchor hosted a segment on ‘GMA’ with Lara Spencer.

He acknowledged the interaction with Spencer on his Instagram handle and wrote, “#mynameislewis #Lewis in his first one-on-one interview @lara.spencer @goodmorningamerica #scary #ghoulish #jackolantern.”

Champion started his new anchoring gig at ABC7 NY last month after replacing the 'Tamron Hall Show' for the 10 am slot.
