Hegseth said that the issue around younger people transitioning was not limited to a right-wing discourse but should expand over to the left as well.

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'Fox & Friends' host Pete Hegseth went on an angry rant against Gender-Affirming Care during his Labor Day appearance on the news talk show.

The panel, devoid of the regular hosts, brought up a conversation between Joe Rogan and Bill Maher about the good and bad of the therapy.

The Fox hosts were not on board with children having access to such a therapy and Hegseth noted that out in his rant.

Something in particular that the weekend host Hegseth had an issue with was children being able to access hormonal and surgical therapy to change the gender of their bodies.

With Dr Nicole Saphier on the panel, the idea was raised that children are not capable of making decisions about their own bodies.

"These kids are our most precious asset and the only thing that we're behind," the host said.

"We were all kids and we were all confused and we were all idiots and we didn't know what we were doing. We weren't allowed to smoke, drink, gamble, or get tattoos," he added.

Hegseth seemed to have aligned those habits with the need to have a different physical gender.

"So, we're allowed to change our genders when we're 11 or 12?" Hegseth pointedly questioned.

"And these experts call it 'Gender-Affirming Care' like it's some teddy bear we should wrap our arms around and affirm everybody's latest impulse for what a 12 or 13-year-old wants," he added.

Hegseth also went on to add that the issue around younger people transitioning was not limited to a right-wing discourse but should expand over to the left as well.

In reference to the conversation between Rogan and Maher, he said, "To watch Joe Rogan who is, inherently, mostly, non-political, and Bill Maher who's a leftist talk about this and mock it -- it opens up the door for a real conversation."

Hegseth also went on to attack schools and policymakers who have contributed to this rise in easy access to gender-affirming care.

"We have lost our minds at this moment?" he said incredulously.

"We're not telling parents at school boards that their kids are transitioning," he added.
