'I think that nothing mattered more to him than music, ever,' Ariana Grande said referring to Mac Miller

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ariana Grande paid a subtle tribute to Mac Miller. The singer-actress on Friday, August 25, shared a deluxe edition of her debut album ‘Yours Truly.’

The 30-year-old released the edition to celebrate its 10th anniversary which features new live versions of some of its songs, including ‘The Way.’ This song is also her first collaboration with the rapper.

How did Ariana Grande and Mac Miller meet?

The two artists became close friends as they worked on the project and created the hit ‘The Way.’

In the original music video, the pair performed and kissed during the song.

They started dating in 2016 and split after two years in May 2018. The ‘Self Care’ crooner died the same year due to an accidental overdose at the age of 26.

In the visualizer for the song's new 'Live from London' version, one can see a simple video featuring a moving version of the ‘Yours Truly’ 10th-anniversary album cover.

Grande pays homage to Miller by fading out every element of the clip except for the words "Feat Mac Miller" and it glows in white over a black background at the end.

Moreover, Grande's new live take on the pop/R&B track comes in its usual production in most of the performance. However, when Miller's second rap verse begins, the song's bubbly instrumental is taken off and replaced by an orchestral string section.

The singer wrote, ‘I love you’ while responding to a fan’s celebratory post of a clip from the song’s music video on social media.

She later shared it on her Instagram Story, too, reports People.

What did Ariana admire the most about Mac Miller?

In an interview with Apple Music, Grande said "I think that nothing mattered more to him than music, ever. And he was the kind of person who woke up and rolled into the studio, tumbled out of bed, into the studio next door," she told the host.

The Grammy winner added, "Nothing was more important. Talk about losing track of time and forgetting to eat, [having to] remind yourself to take care of yourself and be a person. He was a person who gave literally every single second of his thought and time and life to his music."

Ariana is presently working on her debut film 'Wicked' which was being shot in London. The singer also recently started dating co-actor Ethan Slater.
