LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The attacks by Hamas on Israel have garnered worldwide attention, including that of late night talk show hosts. Many have extended their prayers for the affected people while dragging politicians who haven't responded appropriately.

Stephen Colbert shared on 'The Late Show', during his monologue on Monday, October 9, that his team of writers decided against crafting any jokes concerning the Hamas attacks on Israel.

The host even praised AIs for demonstrating humanity by refusing to make jokes about war.

The Internet also commended AI for showing greater humanity following Colbert’s commendation of Chat GPT for its refusal to make light of war situations.

Stephen Colbert praises AI

'The Late Show' host Stephen Colbert said his writers "didn’t even attempt to write jokes about" Hamas attacks on Israel.

"The human mind simply refuses to do it. Even AI (artificial intelligence) refused to do it," Colbert stated, adding that ChatGPT answered a query by saying that "making jokes about such matters can easily be seen as insensitive, disrespectful, or offensive to those who are suffering as a result.'"

"I, for one, want to commend our future robot overlords. That is a rare show of humanity from something that can’t identify which photos contain a traffic light," said the TV host.

"The complexity of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is immaterial to the horror of this attack," said Colbert. "It is heartbreaking to see violence escalate, and we hope and pray that some day peace is possible."

Internet says 'AI shows more humanity than Trump'

Fans on the internet agreed with Colbert's praise as the AI powering Chat GPT demonstrated humanity in the midst of a war scenario. Some even drew comparisons with Donald Trump, stating "The AI shows more humanity than Trump."

"When AI shows more humanity than Trump, the world is in a very weird place," said a user. "Even AI retains some level of humanity that trump doesn’t have" added another.

"It’s not shocking a computer has more empathy than Trump," commented another.

One fan praised Colbert and said, "Well said Mr Colbert."
