Jake Paul has grabbed the limelight once again with his latest Sports Illustrated cover

CLEVELAND, OHIO: Jake Paul has grabbed the limelight once again with his latest Sports Illustrated cover! Even though the YouTuber who began his boxing career in 2018 has only been in the sport for five years, he has already received the privilege of being on the cover of Sports Illustrated Magazine's August issue.

Apart from his promotion and interviews, Paul seems to be training hard. Paul reached out to boxing hall of famer Shane Mosley to train him for his next bout against Nate Diaz on August 5. This bout comes after Paul's loss against Tommy Fury in February of this year, which caused him to lose his unbeaten record.

‘Piss off a lot of people’

Paul, who is both humble and proud, admitted that given how fresh he is to the sport, his cover could likely "piss off a lot of people." Along with superstars like Serena Williams and LeBron James, Paul was named one of Sports Illustrated's 50 Most Influential Figures in Sports on their 2023 Power List. Paul was also featured on the cover of SI.

Jake described his training philosophy in an interview with SI for his cover story, saying, “I just look to the next person who’s maybe the best at it and say, well, if they can do it, so can I.” “[i]f I really put my mind to something then why can’t I accomplish that as well?” he added.

‘He has potential to be a champion’

Shane, Paul's trainer, believes he will be the greatest, saying, “[h]e works very hard, he listens very well… He has the potential to be a champion, a world champion.”

In addition to being viewed as a potential champion, Paul has a number of business enterprises and recently increased his net worth by millions, which allowed him to purchase a property in Puerto Rico for himself and his fiancee, five-time world champion speed skater Jutta Leerdam.
