NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former couple Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are nearing the end of their custody battle over their two young daughters, Willa and Delphine.

According to court documents obtained by Page Six on Tuesday, October 10 morning, the former couple is optimistic that they can reach an “amicable resolution on all issues between them” soon.

The documents also reveal that the 'Jonas Brothers' star and the 'Game of Thrones' actress have agreed on a temporary custody arrangement for their daughters.

Turner, 27, will have the girls from October 9 to October 21, and she can travel with them anywhere in the US or UK during that period.

She or the child's nanny will then hand them over to Jonas, 34, who will keep them until November 2.

The pair will continue to alternate custody until January 7, 2024, allowing the children to spend Thanksgiving with their father and Christmas with their mother.

Jonas and Turner spent three days "engaged in a productive mediation from October 4 to October 7," in an attempt to settle their divorce without any hostility.

The mediation comes after Turner sued her estranged husband for wrongful retention, alleging that Jonas was withholding their passports and not allowing them to return to England.

In the complaint, she called for “immediate return” of "wrongfully retained" daughters to England, where they had planned to raise them in a “forever home," the former couple found.

Following the complaint and statement from Jonas, the former couple reached a temporary agreement to keep their daughters in Southern and Eastern districts of New York which included New York City, Long Island, and the Hudson Valley.

A report, citing a source, said that Jonas was "committed" to working things out with his estranged wife during mediation and did not want to "put up a fight - as long as they could come to a fair agreement on the kids."

The agreement stipulates that before December 23, the two parties will jointly send a letter reporting the progress of their mediation “that the parties shall jointly submit a status report letter,” as per People.

On September 5, Jonas filed for for divorce from Turner in Miami court. The filing claimed that "the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken."

However, as per the filling, the couple has a prenup in place. The filing also asked for a "parenting plan" that addresses all parenting issues.

It said it should, "contain a timesharing schedule providing for frequent and continuing contact with both parties. The children have been residing with their father in Miami and other locations throughout the United States."
