Joe Rogan said, 'What's fascinating about someone who is willing to commit to building stuff like this, this is engineering, this is art'

AUSTIN, TEXAS: Joe Rogan, a polarizing UFC commentator, and podcast presenter, once addressed a "100+ year old Japanese building" on his podcast, 'The Joe Rogan Experience.' Rogan was gobsmacked by the incredible construction skills employed by the Japanese to construct the skyscrapers.

Japanese architecture has evolved over time by integrating traditional forms with modern technology to improve fire resistance and convenience. As a result, they are no longer all the same as the traditional dwellings described by Rogan on 'JRE.' However, there has recently been increased interest in adopting traditional technologies to construct structures that are both eco-friendly and long-lasting.

'Craftsmanship is so insane'

During episode #1972 of 'JRE,' Rogan and his guest Jim Breuer watched the construction techniques of Japanese buildings. Rogan said to Breuer, "Do you know what I saw that was fascinating? They took apart this 100+ year old Japanese building, that was made with no nails. The craftsmanship is so insane. I am talking about these precision thin cuts on wood, where they mesh together perfectly."

Rogan then watched a video of architecture and continued to say, "Look at how they did this... This is Japanese construction. Isn't that insane? Look how they made these perfect cut wedges and they just slide into each other. But what's fascinating about someone who is willing to commit to building stuff like this is like... This is engineering, this is art, this is architecture. Look at how they're doing this when they're making all these things slide into each other and secure in place with wedges. This is incredible."

The walls of Japanese buildings used to be composed of woven bamboo coated with mud on both sides. However, many various types of materials have been produced in recent years, and plywood is often used.

Many buildings used to have walls with exposed columns, but during the Meiji period (1868-1912), buildings began to be built with a system that encases the columns inside the walls to lessen the risk of fire. In 1919, the eighth year of the Taisho era, it was made a legal necessity that the walls of wooden buildings in metropolitan areas be built in this manner.

'You're drinking dinosaur p**s'

Adrienne Iapalucci, another comic, appeared as a guest on one of the other episodes. Rogan noted that, at one point in time, most of the world's water was filtered by a dinosaur's urinary tract, given the large number of dinosaurs that historically roamed the Earth for about a hundred million years.

Rogan said, "P**s is just dirty water. If you're drinking water, you're drinking dinosaur p**s. All water on Earth, at one point in time, if you just think statistically, the hundreds of millions of years that dinosaurs were around, all that water, at some point in time, was filtered out of a dinosaur's d**k." He further added, "Every glass of water you drink originally was in dinosaur urine."

Rogan then searched the internet for confirmation, saying, "The beasts were here far longer than we have ever been in that long span of time it's very likely the dinosaurs have drunk all the water available back then and then all the water available now is simply water that has passed through a dinosaur's kidneys making its way through the never-ending water cycle."
