AUSTIN, TEXAS: Joe Rogan is one of the most renowned figures in the boxing world, and he dominates the podcast world with his popular podcast show, 'The Joe Rogan Experience'. Apart from that, the UFC color commentator works as a stand-up comedian on the side. But prior to his fame, Rogan, who currently has a net worth of $120 million, worked odd jobs.

In one of his podcast episodes, Rogan remarked that stardom did not come effortlessly to him and opened up about his personal struggles. He stated that he worked as a security guard and a construction worker to make ends meet. Keep reading to know what works the controversial podcaster was involved in before rising to fame.

Joe Rogan worked as a security guard

In the most recent podcast episode of 'The Joe Rogan Experience', Rogan revealed that he used to work as a security guard at Great Woods in Mansfield, Massachusetts. He was 19 years old at the time. Rogan discussed his previous job with guests Josh Dubin and Bruce Bryan, especially about how he noticed a shift in people's attitudes once they were granted positions of authority.

He went on to say that it takes someone 'special' to not abuse a position of authority, and he believes most people lack the quality. “They were all they all didn’t listen yet yell at them. You have to tell them what to do and there was a culture of doing that these people behaved almost exactly the way you describe in the Stanford Prison Experiment or you describe with cops and on some occasions these people they were terrible to these people and it was normal,” Rogan stated.

'Would be carrying wood all day'

Rogan also mentioned that he worked on construction sites in one of the earlier episodes of 'The Joe Rogan Experience' podcast. He said, "It was horrible one for me in the summers. When this would happen and I had jobs, So, it be like 4:30 in the morning and I am still trying and get late (at other jobs) and I had to get up at 7 to go to my construction job." He remarked on the hardships related to the job, saying, "Would be carrying wood all day, EXHAUSSSSTED...," and added, "I come home and fall asleep even before I close my eyes off, I just hit the f**king bed [Snoring] sideways, out cold, wake up in the morning and do it all over again."

Rogan worked many odd jobs while living in Boston as he worked on his stand-up career, including teaching martial arts at Boston University and nearby Revere, delivering newspapers, driving a limousine, and helping a private investigator.
