The ranch owner had to shoot one of Linda Blair's pit bulls after witnessing the brutal attack

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Linda Blair, famous for her role in 'The Exorcist', is facing a lawsuit filed by her neighbor Stephanie and Edgar Najar. The couple alleges that Blair's pit bulls launched a brutal attack on their miniature horse, resulting in one of the dogs being shot.

The lawsuit targets both Blair and her charitable organization, the Worldheart Foundation, known for its efforts to rescue and rehabilitate injured animals. The incident dates back to November 11, 2022. In the event, one of Blair's pit bulls had to be shot dead by the ranch owner after witnessing the brutality of the attack.

Edgar had to kill one of the dogs to stop the attack

According to Stephanie and Edgar, the Golden Globe Award winner's pit bulls entered their property in Acton, California, court documents seen by RadarOnline reveal. After that, the canines brutally assaulted the small horse, causing significant injuries. Unfortunately, the situation deteriorated to the point that Edgar had to kill one of the dogs to stop the attack.

The lawsuit claims Edgar was aware of her Pit bulls dangers

Stephanie and Edgar further claim in the lawsuit that the entertainer was “aware that they had dangerous animals on their property, given that there were at least two previous occasions where [Linda’s] dogs" trespassed onto their property and attacked the livestock. Stephanie and Edgar are seeking compensation for the loss of use of their horse, as well as payment for hospital and medical expenditures, as well as general damages. Their action seeks compensatory and punitive damages.

The criticism surrounding Blair's dealings with animals is not happening for the first time. In an incident from 2010, a dog had escaped from her Worldheart Foundation. The dog, as per the report wandered over to the adjoining property and attacked a little potbellied pig named Gerty. Despite the ranch owner's efforts to deter the dog, he was forced to shoot the animal to death in order to safeguard the pig. Fortunately, Gerty was able to live after recovering from injuries.

'I have expressed my deepest concerns for the condition of the pig'

At that time, Linda said, “I have expressed my deepest concerns for the condition of the pig. The Deputy informed us that, in his opinion, the injury to the pig was not life-threatening. As a former pig owner, animal lover and neighbor, I have offered through the responding Deputy, to provide or pay for the medical care, if needed, for injuries the pig may have sustained in this unfortunate incident.”

'We know this dog to be very sweet, gentle, and kind'

She further added, “We know this dog to be very sweet, gentle, and kind. This dog had no human aggression in him whatsoever. It's important to note that we are a non-breed specific rescue and the dog was simply a lab and unusual Egyptian-like, hound mix. This dog was one of the many wonderful companion animals we have rescued. Despite this tragedy, we will continue towards our goal of saving lives.” So far, Linda has not yet provided a response to the recent lawsuit.
