Logan Paul poured fuel on the flames by calling Conor McGregor 'an average MMA fighter and a horrible boxer '

CLEVELAND, OHIO: After the former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor threatened to "slap the nose" off Logan Paul's face, the influencer-turned-boxer retorted that McGregor is free to "attempt" slapping him.

Logan Paul had earlier trolled Conor McGregor after the UFC superstar revealed he was going to train Dillon Danis for his boxing debut against Paul.

Dillon Danis and Logan Paul are slated to fight on October 14 in Manchester. As a precaution, Misfits Boxing has also signed BKFC star Mike Perry as a backup, threatening Danis with a $100,000 fine if he cancels.

Logan Paul’s reply to Conor McGregor

While replying to Conor McGregor, Logan Paul informed Misfits Boxing, “I’d like to see him attempt to slap the nose off my face."

He added, "Conor McGregor is an average MMA fighter and a horrible boxer. I’m gonna beat the s**t out of his b***h Dillon, and then I’m gonna beat the shit out of him.”

Logan Paul, who once fought Floyd Mayweather to a draw, offered Conor McGregor a million dollar bet after the Irishman declared that Dillon Danis would definitely win in the upcoming October showdown against Paul.

“But he ghosted me, bro. He won’t even bet a million on his fighter. That’s chump change for a guy like Conor. He won’t even bet a million dollars on Dillon. He had nothing to say when I called him out on Twitter. So you think he’s going to step in there himself? I don’t know, it feels unlikely,” Paul said about McGregor.

Is Conor McGregor returning to MMA?

Paul's younger brother Jake Paul, a former influencer turned fighter, has targeted McGregor more frequently.

Although the senior Paul is considerably heavier than the typical MMA middleweight, the Irish star's UFC contract stands in the way of a cross-over fight.

After previously being penciled in as the UFC 296 main event versus Michael Chandler in December, McGregor is anticipated to make a comeback in early 2024.

However, his participation this year would need the UFC to give him an exemption from a six-month drug testing window. The Irish star said his late-year return was back on the table after earlier telling his supporters it was off.

While Dillon Danis has never boxed professionally and hasn't fought in a cage since 2019, he is a skilled jiu-jitsu practitioner and MMA fighter who has twice competed at 175 pounds. His fight with Logan Paul is anticipated to go eight rounds at cruiserweight (up to 200 pounds).
