Megyn Kelly called out Fox News for their sloppy questions to candidates at the GOP debate

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Megyn Kelly has come down swinging at her former employer Fox News for letting the candidates off the hook quite easily at the first GOP Debate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The 52-year-old American journalist who hosts the ‘The Megyn Kelly Show’ podcast on Sirius XM was completely livid at Fox News for acting as mere “cheerleaders” to the Republican candidates and not asking thought-provoking questions.

Megyn lasted out on her podcast and also critiqued Fox News’ approach of wasting “three minutes of Primetime debate” by playing the national anthem at the beginning of the debate and not before the start of it.

She focussed strictly on the fact that the host was not stern with the candidates on the panel and instead should have adopted a more “antagonistic” approach to lure more vivid answers out of them.

Megyn has been a fierce critic of Fox News since her departure in 2017 and the recent GOP debate was just another opportunity to make her voice heard.

Megyn Kelly slams Fox News for being ‘cheerleaders’ at GOP debate

In her latest episode of ‘The Megyn Kelly Show,’ the former NBC News anchor levied accusations of “rooting” for the Republican candidates on her ex-employer, Fox News.

Megyn began her podcast by stating that she watched both — the debate as well as ‘Trump-Tucker’ interview.

She stated that it was quite “bizarre” for her since she wasn’t out there with Bret Baier hosting the debate like she did in the past when she was at Fox News.

She then went on to slam Fox News for taking too much time to “get to the point.” Megyn said, “Get to the point.

Everyone’s been waiting. We don’t need to hear the national anthem at the beginning of the debate. Play that right before the debate gets started.”

The ex-NBC News star stated that the debate required a “strong first question” which didn’t happen.

She then added, “There is nothing wrong with reporters in the room at a Presidential debate being slightly antagonistic to the candidates. It works. We’re not supposed to be cheerleaders rooting for them.”

Megyn had a word of advice for Fox News. She asked them to “go out there and be skeptical, press them and push them for answers.”

Before introducing the guests on her podcast for the day, Megyn pleaded with Fox News to “have an edge” over the candidates. "We’re not supposed to love them. We’re supposed to love truth,” she said.

Megyn Kelly fans support her for calling out Fox News

Fans and followers followed Kelly closely and appreciated her unbiased view of the debate.

One fan wrote, “Megyn you are spot on!!! They wasted time in the beginning! Not at all a strong first question! Love your honesty, and keep up the great work.”

A fan said, “You are correct. However, Fix News (Fox) lost me a while back. The debate has been all over the internet so seen parts of a very shallow debate. Nothing of substance.”

One fan mentioned, “I agree. The "debate " became a one-upmanship contest, each one trying to make their soundbite stick. Fox definitely went for ratings. Hardly a debate.”

A fan stated, “Yeah, you kinda did call 'em boot lickers! And you're RIGHT!!” while a fifth simply praised her, “ Preach, Megyn”

Another one added, “Thank you for your insights, Meghan!!! Meghan Kelly for Vice President!!!”
