Fox News anchor Sean Hannity's report on Kevin McCarthy’s statement against his fellow Reps had the Internet asking him to 'stop crying'

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Tuesday, September 3, Kevin McCarthy spoke to reporters for nearly 50 minutes following his ouster as House Speaker after the 'motion to vacate' the chair had been passed on the House floor.

Initially, he expressed gratitude and positivity about his tenure but his speech soon turned into a rant.

He delved into score-setting, addressing the eight members who had voted to remove him from his position, blasting his fellow GOP Reps, which included chief instigator, Matt Gaetz, and others like Nancy Mace, and Matt Rosendale, who voted against him.

Following this, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X (formerly Twitter) to update his viewers on what all McCarthy had said and what he’s planning on doing next.

However, the Internet didn’t respond positively to Hannity’s tweet and brutally trolled McCarthy saying “he is in his melt down mode.”

Sean Hannity tweets about Kevin McCarthy's 'fiery speech'

Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X and wrote, “McCARTHY: “They’re not conservatives and they don’t get to call themselves conservatives."

In his tweet, he featured an article from his official website titled, “EXIT INTERVIEW: McCarthy UNLOADS on Mace, Gaetz and Rosendale in Fiery Speech [WATCH].”

There was a video of McCarthy talking to the press where he trashes the Republicans behind his ouster.

He said, “You all know Matt Gaetz…You know it was personal. It had nothing to do with spending.”

According to The New York Post, McCarthy strongly criticized his counterpart from Florida, asserting that the actions taken by the latter were "not becoming of a member of Congress."

McCarthy claimed that Gaetz's motion to remove him from his leadership position was primarily driven by a House Ethics Committee investigation into Gaetz himself, and McCarthy's decision not to interfere in that investigation.

It's worth noting that Gaetz has denied this allegation.

McCarthy further added, “Regardless of what you think, I’ve seen the texts. It was all about his ethics, but that’s all right.”

The former speaker, who held the position for a mere 269 days, the shortest tenure in nearly 150 years, additionally accused Rep Matt Rosendale, one of the eight members who voted against him, of invoking divine intervention for the purpose of wishing Republican defeats in the 2022 midterm elections.

He said, “Matt Rosendale. He goes to Mass every day. But you know what he said his prayer was all last year? That Republicans didn’t have a big victory. That they had a narrow victory.”

“When you have members like that, that are part of your team, you’ve got a tough team,” McCarthy concluded.

Internet trolls Kevin McCarthy for aggrieved rant about fellow Reps

Soon after Sean Hannity tweeted Kevin McCarthy’s statement against his fellow Reps, the Internet was quick to slam the former Speaker for his attitude post his ouster.

One person wrote, “Awww, do nothing McCarthy is mad.”

One more person called out McCarthy saying, “If he would have done his job for the American people he would still have it,” and another said, “Politics! You play with the Devil, you get burned by the Devil!”

A person simply wrote, “McCarthy is bought and paid for. Good riddance,” while one tweet mocked him saying, “I have some tissue. Lol.”

One more added, “Stop crying,” and another wrote, “He is in melt down mode.”
