LOS ANGELS, CALIFORNIA: 'The Kardashian' star Kim Kardashian has been named one of the 100 Most Powerful Women by Fortune magazine. However, social media users trolled Kim over her big achievement.
The reality star has also graced the cover of the magazine's October/November issue. On the cover, Kim showed she meant business by modelling an oversized, black blazer and matching trousers.
While standing and leaning against a chair, she tilted her head upwards in a confident power pose and simultaneously showcased her beauty. The reality star rocked a monochromatic brown makeup look.
While sharing the cover, she simply penned, "The cover of Fortune magazine." Meanwhile, the Instagram user took to the comment section to troll the reality star as one person wrote, "Influential? For plastic?"
Another user added, "Is this like when Kylie was the youngest female billionaire? Lolol.. I just don’t trust y’all." Another follower said, "What Power. It's glorify popularity and that's it."
Another social media user commented, "They take your mom and all the fortune you have and you are blown away by the nonsense of a powerful woman." Another critic noted, "Probably the most hated too."
Kim Kardashian turned her shapewear brand into a $4 billion company
Kim Kardashian was praised for turning her shapewear brand SKIMS into a $4 billion company. Kim founded the apparel line, which started selling shapewear, in 2019.
However, in just four years, SKIMS became a formidable rival to the 20-year-old category leader, Blackstone-backed Spanx, with innovative and trendy designs that match the reality star's own monochromatic style.
Kim came with SKIMS through her own experiences cutting up and dyeing shapewear to better fit her body and match her skin tone. The line includes products like one-legged shapewear.
Her venture into private equity provides an opportunity to add to her fortune, which Forbes estimates to be around $1.7 billion as of July.
Kim Kardashian wants to be the next generation of unicorns with SKKY Partners
Kim Kardashian and Jay Sammons, who worked for top private equity firm Carlyle for 16 years, announced SKYY Partners last year. However, Kim recently told Fortune magazine that her new venture aimed to raise $1 billion by launch.
Kim said that she will take confidence in herself in her private equity endeavours even though some people still don’t take her seriously. She shared, "Maybe that’s part of my drive, always feeling like people have underestimated me. Maybe that’s what keeps me going."
Kim also noted, "I've always found that the most successful ones are where I don’t have a lot of middlemen, where I’m really close to the partners." Kim explained, "You definitely can see an evolution of the type of business that I’ve been involved in. I’ve been through it all."
Are Beyonce and Kim Kardashian friends?
Kim Kardashian stunned everyone when she attended Beyonce's concert which was also featured in Hulu's 'The Kardashian'. However, there have long been rumours about Beyoncé and Kim reportedly not being friends.
It was previously been suggested that Kim and Beyonce didn't have a great relationship because of an alleged feud between Beyoncé's husband Jay-Z and Kim's now ex-husband Kanye West.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z reportedly didn't attend Kim and Kanye's wedding back in 2014, despite the rapper having been said to have mentored Kanye earlier in his career. The couple's apparent absence attracted attention at the time.
Meanwhile, in the latest teaser of 'The Kardashian' gushed about Beyonce. The reality star opened up about her drinking habits, and claimed in the teaser, "I'm definitely still a lightweight."
Kim further said, "I'll have, like, two shots and I'll be wasted and it's so much fun. I'll be dancing on the dance floor. Seriously, I know you guys don't believe me." Kim then name-dropped a famous gal pal whom she claimed could vouch for her, saying, "Ask Beyoncé. I danced all night long at her party. I think I blacked out."
