Brand Sr has blasted the 'unproven' allegations against his son, insinuating that powerful forces in the media are pursuing a 'vendetta' against him

LONDON, ENGLAND: Russell Brand's father has come to his defense following claims he abused women for years. Ron Brand, 80, called the allegations against his son "unproven" and asked, "Is this seriously the most important thing happening in this world?"

Russell Brand was born in Essex on June 4, 1975, to Barbara and Ronald Henry Brand. While Barbara and Ronald tied the knot in 1969, they eventually parted ways and Russell was raised primarily by his mother.

Multiple reports suggest Ronald Henry Brand worked as a photographer. Not much is known about Russell Brand's father aside from this information.

Russell Brand's father rushes to his defense

According to the Daily Mail, the star credits his father for his "rapacious" sex addiction, especially after losing his virginity to a prostitute paid for by his father, who was allegedly sleeping with two more women in a neighboring bed in Hong Kong at the time.

That said, Brand Sr has blasted the "unproven" allegations against his son, insinuating that powerful forces in the media -- including the BBC -- are pursuing a "vendetta" against him by reporting on women who came forward to accuse him of abuse.

"Is this seriously the most important thing happening in this world? Immigrants? Cost of living? 10s of thousands killed in Ukraine? Who is prioritizing at BBC News? Who is really driving this vendetta?" Ron Brand wrote on social media. "With many struggling to pay bills. The unproven accusations of 15 years ago take lead on BBC News?" he added.

Russell Brand wrote about his father's role in his sex life in the autobiography 'My Booky Wook'.

As mentioned, his parents split up when he was just six years old. While Russell was incredibly close to his mother, he also developed a rather unconventional relationship with his father. The comedian and actor has spoken about watching pornography at his dad's residence when he was in primary school.

Father and son take a trip to Hong Kong

After turning 17, Brand and his father took a trip to Hong Kong, where the future star was excited chatting to bar girls in the city. At one point, Ron reportedly hired three of the women to accompany them back to their hotel.

"My dad set about unwrapping his two prostitutes," Russell wrote, noting that he was trying to impress the remaining one but found the "bedlam" from the neighboring bed rather unsettling.

"I sat on the edge of the other twin bed. She must have known I was a virgin as soon as the bungling encounter commenced," he continued. "I stroked Mary-Lou's hair and kissed her cheek and traced my finger down her perfect nose, scored by the cacophony from the adjacent bedlam, 'Yeah, come on!' and 'Phwooar, you're juicy.'"

Russell admitted that "during the rest of that holiday I f****d loads more prostitutes and never wore a condom… it had hardened me… my sexuality had morphed forever from bewildered innocence into something more complex and rapacious."

Now, the Times and Sunday Times have reported that several women have come forward with allegations about Brand's conduct during the early 2000s.

The latest claims -- which the newspapers are investigating with Channel 4 -- will now be "rigorously checked" after accusations from four women, including one who claims she was sexually assaulted during a three-month relationship with Brand when she was allegedly 16 and still at school, the Daily Mail reported.
