Kimmel stayed that they both passed away within 9 days of each other, describing it as "kind of romantic in the worst possible way," but emblematic of their deep love for each other.

The host mentioned, "They passed away within 9 days of each other which is kind of romantic in like the worst possible way but, also very romantic because they were very... uh... they loved each other very much"

Sarah remembers her father on a humorous note

As per People report, Sarah Silverman, the 52-year-old comedian, shared the news of her father Donald Silverman's passing in an Instagram post, back in May.

She mentioned that his death occurred on May 11.

Sarah acknowledged the timing of her father's death, coming shortly after the recent loss of her stepmother, Janice, to whom Donald was married for 40 years.

The stand-up comedian, actress, and writer mentioned her dad saying, "I don't want to live in a world without Janice. You know after she passed, I don't want to live without her"

She replied, "I said dad, you know, statistically you won't."

Silverman mentioned she tried to cheer up her dad after her stepmother died but didn't think she'd be right, and then humorously added it's not the time to say, "I told you so."

Silverman then proceeded to highlight the close bond they all shared as a family before her dad's death.

"My dad is dying and uh we kind of all camped out in their apartment and led him into death... it was lovely"

Sarah Silverman also shared another poignant and humorous anecdote about her father's final moments.

She describes the family gathering in her parents' apartment to be with her dying father.

During this time, they FaceTimed her father's close friend and magician Bernie Shine, and her father, in a moment of humor, jokingly tells Bernie that his show was "so bad it killed someone."

She also recounted the challenge of navigating logistics of her father's death, emphasizing the unexpected details that come with end-of-life situations.

Sarah promised her father 'no hospital'

Sarah Silverman recalled the challenging situation surrounding her father's deteriorating health.

She shared a conversation with the doctor who recommended hospitalization, but she and her family had promised her father "no hospital."

The doctor empathized, saying he'd probably make the same choice. Sarah then reveals her father's impending death due to liver and kidney failure, describing it as a painless way to die.

When she delivered the news to her father, she approached it with humor, calling it "great news." She however reflected on the pitfalls of not having a "death plan" in place.

Amid the logistical challenges, she even discussed the option of cremation to optimize space in Janice's plot.

She shared a moment, mentioning to her dad, "If you get cremated you can be buried just like three feet above her and you know and he goes, 'I don't... I don't care. I'll be dead.'"
