Howard Stern brands King Charles a ‘p***y’ and calls the coronation 'disgusting'
Howard Stern has made it clear that he's no royalist after he called King Charles, a "p***y" and slammed the coronation as "disgusting." The American radio host discussed the recent coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla on his Monday show (May 8) where he referred to the royal couple as "vampires" and declared that "England’s got to get a grip on themselves." "I understand maybe it brings in tourism but Jesus H Christ," Stern began, before having some choice words for the newly crowned King Charles. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter "First of all Prince Charles is a p***y. That’s number one. And people are acting – the whole ceremony they’re acting like that f***ing guy went to war or something and then beat up all the other people." "They’re like ‘We swear our allegiance to you and you’re a great warrior,'" Stern added. "I mean the whole thing is f***ing nuts and in this day and age." He went on note the millions being spent on the coronation while the country is currently going through a cost of living crisis. "It was disgusting and I’ll tell you why it’s disgusting," Stern continued. "It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to say this but England’s having its own economic problems and they spent a fortune on that coronation. And it’s just repugnant to watch a country who’s suffering through economic problems and then you see the pomp and circumstance. Though Stern did concede that the royal family brings tourists to the UK. "I’m not naive. I understand that they’ve determined that having a monarchy brings tourists in and provides a flavor to the country and something for people to go see, it’s part of the tourism, I get all that, I’m not naive. But it just sends the wrong message." Meanwhile, Stern wasn't impressed with King Charles and Queen Camilla's pre-recorded cameo on 'American Idol' with judges Katy Perry and Lionel Richie who both performed at King's coronation concert, live from Windsor Castle on Sunday (May 7). "I watch ‘American Idol'," Stern said. "And those two showed up – King Charles and King Camilla or whatever she is. Camilla the Queen. King Kong, whoever the f***, showed up there. "And they marched out, they’re like two wooden boards, they’re like vampires, they’re stiff. And Katy Perry and Lionel are talking to them. I thought they were cardboard cut outs at first they wheeled [on]." Previously Stern has spoken out against the British royals before, since last year he didn't seem to be a fan of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Netflix documentary, calling them "whiny b***ches. Jill Biden is trying to change Biden’s childlike diet
First lady Jill Biden is reportedly unsatisfied with the substance of President Joe Biden’s diet. According to a report from Alex Thompson at Axios, Ms Biden is urging the president to eat more vegetables and fish with his re-election campaign underway and a vast number of Americans concerned about his age and fitness to serve. Per Axios, Mr Biden is not thrilled about efforts to have him eat healthier. The president’s favourite foods are said to include peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, BLT’s, pizza, and spaghetti with butter and red sauce, as well as ice cream. Whether or not Mr Biden’s diet has any significant bearing on his fitness is difficult to determine. Mr Biden works out daily with a personal trainer, and his doctors have declared that he is in fine health. The extent to which a person’s diet determines their overall health is generally difficult to determine, with a host of other environmental and genetic factors contributing. But the attention being paid to Mr Biden’s diet comes as he embarks on what will be a gruelling re-election campaign that could be complicated by perceptions about his health. According to a recent ABC News/Washington Post poll, two-thirds of Americans believe Mr Biden is too old to serve a second term. Just as importantly, Americans at this stage see former President Donald Trump — Mr Biden’s likely opponent — as mentally sharper. The irony is that Mr Trump, who is just four years younger than Mr Biden, also dealt with consternation over the makeup of his diet when he was president. Mr Trump, who once served a national championship-winning football team a meal of McDonalds products, reportedly so disliked vegetables that his staff resorted to sneaking them into his food. Mr Trump reportedly skipped meals with some frequency, but regularly enjoyed fast food spreads including hamburgers, pizza, fried chicken, and fried fish. There is one other dietary similarity between Mr Biden and Mr Trump: neither man drinks alcohol. Mr Biden reportedly enjoys orange Gatorade, while Mr Trump is reportedly fond of Diet Coke. Fans declare Halle Bailey’s Ariel-inspired dress ‘perfect’ for The Little Mermaid premiere
Halle Bailey has earned praise for the “perfect” Ariel-inspired dress she wore to the premiere of The Little Mermaid. On 8 May, Bailey, who plays Ariel in the upcoming live-action Disney remake, arrived on the red carpet in Los Angeles in a metallic blue Valdrin Sahiti gown with a shell-shaped structured neckline that resembled the mermaid’s iconic seashell top. Bailey paired the shimmering blue gown with teal eyeshadow, glittery blue nails and diamond earrings, with the result an outfit worthy of the film’s titular character. On social media, the “Do It” singer’s look has been met with joy from fans, with many declaring the gown a perfect interpretation of Ariel. “Halle Bailey looked absolutely amazing at the premiere of #TheLittleMermaid. The dress was perfect for this event because it looked so mermaid-like,” one person tweeted, while another said: “I am so obsessed with Halle Bailey’s dress for The Little Mermaid premiere!! She looks so beautiful omg.” Someone else described the outfit choice as an “aquatic serve,” while another person admitted that the gown left them “speechless”. “Still not over Halle Bailey’s dress,” one person tweeted. Others were appreciative of the fact that the dress did not prevent Bailey from interacting with young fans, with a video showing the star bending down to greet and embrace Offset and Cardi B’s daughter Kulture, five, during the premiere. The Migos rapper, who dressed in a Prince Eric-inspired outfit for the occasion, attended the premiere alongside Kulture and his daughter Kalea, eight, who were both dressed in miniature ball gowns. “It’s that fact that she can get down that low in this dress that looks like it is PAINTED on [her] body is amazing to me lol I love it,” one fan tweeted along with a video of the sweet moment between Bailey and Kulture. Although the official release of the live-action version of the 1989 Disney film is still weeks away, the remake has already earned praise from critics. Jodi Benson, who voiced Ariel in the animated version of the film, shared her delight with Bailey’s interpretation of the role at the premiere, with Benson telling Entertainment Tonightthat the actress doesn’t need any advice from her because she’s “brilliant”. “[Halle Bailey] doesn’t need any advice from me, she’s brilliant!” she said with a grin. After praising Bailey’s “purity of heart, vulnerability and bravery” in the role, Benson added: “I’m so thrilled for her, and I’m so proud of her.” Bailey’s sister Chloe also applauded her sister, telling ET that “there could not be a more perfect Ariel”. “To know that all of those beautiful girls will be able to see proper representation, whether you’re black or white or anything like that, you’ll be able to look at my sister and say ‘I can be anything I want to be no matter what the world tells me is acceptable,’” she said. “There could not be a more perfect Ariel.” The Little Mermaid will be released on 26 May 2023.
