Before ‘The View’ goes on its temporary hiatus at the end of Season 26, they have introduced a new segment called ‘The ladies get lit'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Before ‘The View’ goes on its temporary hiatus at the end of Season 26, they have introduced a new segment called ‘The ladies get lit.’ This segment revolves around the co-hosts’ summer reads and recommendations for the viewers. After Behar recommended ‘Catch-22’ on Friday, it was Ana Navarro’s turn to talk about her summer reads on Monday, July 31, segment.

Navarro’s first pick was ‘The Wind Knows My Name’ by Isabel Allende, who is one of Navarro’s favorite authors of all time. While Navarro spoke about Allende and the book, she made a demand to ‘The View’ producers, Brian Teta, in particular, right in the middle of the segment, ‘The ladies get lit.’

Ana Navarro picks Isabel Allende

After Whoopi Goldberg announced Navarro’s turn to talk about her picks, Navarro took the book in her hand before she spoke, “Well my first pick is by Isabel Allende. I adore Isabel Allende. She is the best living, certain Latin-American author right now. She is about Latin-American surrealism, and in this book, which I actually read in Spanish, I urge you that if you know Spanish, to read in Spanish because it keeps your vocabulary good.” Navarro then went on to explain the book by Allende, which is about two people who have never met and how their worlds collide.

‘I want her to be a guest’

Navarro then talked about why she loved Allende’s work so much, “You know, one of the things I love about her books is that they are historical novels, and I always learn about history and current affairs. Isabela Allende is a spunky 80-year-old woman. She is so wise, go listen to her interview if you haven’t. I adore her.”

Navarro then looked behind the camera, to Brian Teta, and said, “I want her to be a guest on this show, Brian.” Normally, when Theta is mentioned by the co-hosts or there is a conversation with him, no matter how brief, the camera pans to him for a reaction or some kind of verbal response, however, that wasn’t the case this time. As the audience cheered over Navarro’s demand to Theta, Goldberg was quick to steer the conversation away as she asked Navarro about her second pick on ‘The ladies get lit’ segment.
