Amy Robach celebrated 10 years of beating breast cancer with a heartfelt post on Instagram

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former ‘Good Morning America’ star Amy Robach recently shared a post on Instagram celebrating a decade of being cancer-free.

The 50-year-old was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive breast cancer in 2013. She got a double mastectomy to get rid of it but the doctors found another malignant tumor in her left breast.

Since then, Robach has been truly cancer-free but admits to taking tamoxifen, a drug that helps prevent the recurrence of hormone-driven breast cancers, reports Cure magazine.

For now, Robach celebrates 10 years of beating cancer and shares the heartfelt moment with her followers.

Robach took to her now active Instagram profile and shared a photo of herself to mark the occasion.

In the picture, she sat in a big chair as she received chemotherapy. The ex-GMA3 host had a pink blanket draped across her lap and one folded up on the armrest.

Robach had a slight smile on her face and flexed her left arm as the other received the treatment.

She wore a long-sleeve black sweater and a simple gold necklace. Amy captioned her post, "10 years ago today I became a survivor."

"To everyone out there fighting the fight, I salute you #breastcancerawareness.” October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Fans of the former ‘GMA’ star flocked to the comments to congratulate her and tell her how inspirational she is.

One wrote, “You really nailed it! I followed in your footsteps and got checked and am living with you on a similar journey. ILYSM.”

Robach’s daughter Ava Monroe also commented on her mother’s post with a heart emoji while her younger daughter Annalise, said, "YES MOM!”

“10 years!! and stronger than ever,” another fan wrote.

Robach also did a mammogram publicly on ‘GMA’ in 2013, after her co-worker, Robin Roberts, persuaded her to get one.

The ousted ‘GMA’ star also shared a snap of her getting ready for a new gig.

However, the details of the gig are still unknown but Robach shared a snap of herself in a bright red coat, paired with black leather pants, sitting in a chair while the make-up artist gave the final touches.

Robach slyly captioned the snap, “Pumping it up!” leaving her followers guessing as to where she was headed.
