Drake announced the release of his poetry book titled 'Titles Ruin Everything' in collaboration with Kenza Samir and Aubrey Graham recently

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Canadian singer and songwriter Drake recently announced the publication of his first poetry book called ‘Titles Ruin Everything, A Stream Of Consciousness by Kenza Samir and Aubrey Graham’. This would mark Drizzy’s first poetry book whose release he announced on Friday through a post on Instagram.

Sharing the cover photo of the all-blue poetry book, the ‘Spin Bout U’ singer captioned the post, “I don’t know if I have ever wanted people to buy or support something more in my life…our first book is available tmrw on @drakerelated and other select retailers.” However, the love he expected he would get from his fans might not happen soon as most of the netizens seemed to have rejected the publication even before its release, with many calling him “wannabe Lana Del Rey.”

Why is Drake being compared to Lana Del Rey?

Lana Del Rey published her first book of poetry titled ‘Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass’ in 2020 which became a New York Times best-seller in poetry and obtained the 4th spot on the list. The book was well-loved by the audience for its grappling writing quality and soul-stirring poetic renditions. The book features more than 30 poems, with 13 longer and several shorter verses. While Rey’s fans loved the songstress’ “priceless thoughts”, it seems Drake’s fans are yet to grow the same level of confidence in the ‘Rich Flex’ singer’s literary prowess.

'He wants his lana del rey moment so bad'

As Drake announced his first book of poetry, social media users left no stone unturned to show their creativity in trolling the Canadian rapper. One fan commented mocking the quality of the poems saying, "The poems be like "roses are red, violets are blue, said you a lesbian, girl me too." Another even questioned whether Drake himself wrote the book and said, "How many ghostwriters did it take to write this?"

The third mocked the usage of a vague term like "Stream of Consciousness" by posting a GIF. Someone even questioned, "How did he get ghostwriters for his poetry book when the writers strike is still going on?"

Fans also compared him with other celebrities who have shown considerable poetic talents. One of them is Lana Del Rey as a fan commented, "Baby youre not lana del rey." Another said, "Taylor has him scared, shook, panicking." Another said, "He wants his lana del rey moment so bad." Someone else quipped, "Oh drake you will never be lana."

Another fan said, "If it don’t have cartoony sound effects each time we turn a page we don’t want it." One criticized the font ans said, "No thanks! Knowing the inner thoughts of men presented in an inspirational bumper sticker format is soul-destroying. Also, when is he going to stop using Arial in all-caps for his branding? K-Pop graphic designers ended this trend for good reason."

Some fans declared without reading the book that the poems will not be good as one said, "The poetry will be awful." Another said, "This is gonna be terrible."
