LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Director Rob Reiner and journalist Soledad O'Brien assert that they possess evidence revealing the true identity of the individual responsible for the assassination of former President John F Kennedy, challenging the conventional belief that it was Lee Harvey Oswald.

Reiner and O'Brien are co-hosting a 10-part podcast series titled 'Who Killed JFK?' that delves into the investigation of the assassination on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of John F Kennedy's death.

In their podcast series, Reiner and O'Brien conducted interviews with a diverse array of sources, encompassing CIA officials, medical experts, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists, eyewitnesses, and a former Secret Service agent.

The latter is said to have disclosed groundbreaking evidence that holds the potential to unravel "the greatest murder mystery in American history."

Kennedy was fatally shot on November 22, 1963, while traveling in a presidential motorcade in Dallas. Two days later, his alleged assassin, Oswald, was also shot and killed.

iHeartPodcasts is distributing the podcast, with the third episode released on November 22.

Rob Reiner believes he is close to solving the murder mystery

'When Harry Met Sally' director was a high schooler when Kennedy was assassinated. The director of 'When Harry Met Sally' was a high schooler when Kennedy was assassinated.

Reflecting on that time, Reiner stated, "Anybody who was alive at that time can remember exactly where they were when they heard the news," during an interview with Town and Country magazine discussing his podcast.

"I was in my high school physics class," he recalled. "I was 16 years old. A student came in and whispered into the teacher's ear and the teacher turned to us and said, 'I have some terrible news,' and then they sent us home."

His fascination with the mysterious murder in the history of the United States made him watch countless documentaries.

He visited Dealey Plaza, the site where the motorcade was passing multiple times, and the book depository where the gunman fired. Apart from discussions with experts, he also talked with people who were in Dealey Plaza that day.

Reiner says he has evidence that the US government officials, including the CIA, plotted the murder and President Lyndon B Johnson covered up the conspiracy.

Reiner and O'Brien are not the first to delve into solving the JFK assassination. It remains to be seen whether their efforts will yield new revelations or simply reiterate the familiar narrative.
