SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA: The latest season of 'The Ultimatum' drops this week on Netflix. Compared to the drama-packed 'Queer Love' reunion, this new season packs a bigger punch.
The reality TV show follows five different couples, among whom a single individual has been issued an ultimatum in their relationship.
The couples enter into 'trial marriages' with other members of the ultimatum-hit couples. Over eight weeks, they shall decide whether they are prepared to marry their original partners or wish to move on to someone new.
The new season boasts a variety of pairs, ranging from high school sweethearts to dating app success stories. The trailer says it all.

Alex Chapman
Alex is a 32-year-old software salesman who is the receiver of the ultimatum from his girlfriend Kathryn. All his life, he has followed his girlfriend around the country for the sake of her career and still has many of her photos on his Instagram.
Kathryn 'Kat' Shelton
Kathryn is 28 years old and is the other half of Kathryn and Alex. They met on the dating app Hinge and have since built a long-term relationship. Kathryn is a travel nurse.
Lisa Horne
At 32, Lisa is the Vice President of a clinical service company. In her free time, she likes to feature in modeling gigs.
She has a 10-year-old daughter who is fond of her boyfriend Brian. Lisa is ready to claim Brian as her own and had initially issued an ultimatum for him to come together in an exclusive relationship.
Now, for the second time, she has served him another ultimatum to see whether they can take the next step toward getting hitched after a year and a half of dating.
Brian Okoye
Brian is a self-described creative director, though Netflix describes him as working in finance. He is a 29-year-old financial analyst who started dating Lisa after one of his own 'situationships'.
Apparently, he isn't quite ready yet to take their relationship to the next level, which has led the couple to the show. According to Brian, it is their "explosive arguments" and Lisa's "jealousy issues" that keep him from making a commitment.
James Morris
James is 24 and was a graduate student and research assistant at North Carolina State University. Though he is on the receiving end of the ultimatum from his girlfriend Ryann McCracken, he seems pretty much seriously invested in their relationship.
Ryann McCracken
Like her boyfriend, Ryann is also 24 and they have been dating since high school. She works as a radiologic technician.
Their love story reads like a typical high school fairytale, with her being the prom queen and him a football player. She issued him the ultimatum as she is ready to see the two of them happily married to each other.
Treyvon 'Trey' Brunson
Treyvon is 29 and a graduate of the University of South Carolina. He works as a manager at a paper mill.
Trey's parents have been married for 30 years and he is keen to replicate that sort of long-term commitment in his own life. This is the reason behind him issuing the ultimatum.
Jeriah 'Riah' Nyree
Jeriah is 25 years old and now finds herself on the receiving end of an ultimatum from Treyvon. They met each other on a dating app and things escalated quickly once they moved in together. They have been dating for two years.
Jeriah graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2019, with a major in journalism. She isn't sure Treyvon is the right match for her as she wishes him to put in more effort, which according to Trey, is just another of her unreal expectations manufactured by social media.
Antonio Mattei
Antonio, aged 30, is a freight broker. He is on the lookout for a little more investment from his partner, Roxanne. Though he admires her career focus and ambition, he would like to be more of a priority in her life.
Roxanne Kaiser
Roxanne is a girl boss who has established her own company selling pastries. However, the entrepreneurial spirit in her life has caused trouble in her four-year relationship with Antonio. Roxanne suspects that her partner's dedication to his own career does not quite match up to hers.
The first batch of 'The Ultimatum' Season 2 episodes will premiere on Netflix at 12 pm PT on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, followed by the second batch on Wednesday, August 30.
