MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: One month after being out of the hospital, Madonna is considering herself “lucky.” Taking to her Instagram on Sunday, the ‘Lucky Star’ singer thanked her six children and her longtime manager Guy Oseary. On Sunday, July 30, the 64-year-old singer, who was recently hospitalized after being found unresponsive on June 24, wrote, “Love from family and friends is the best Medicine,” and added a carousel of photos of her children.

She then continued, “As a Mother you can really get caught up In the needs Of your children and the seemingly endless giving,” before adding that her children “really showed up” for supporting her. The Queen of Pop who has six children - Lourdes, 26, Rocco, 22, David, 17, Mercy, 17, and twins Stella and Estere, 10 - further added, “I saw a side to them I had never seen before. It made all the difference.”

The post also saw a special mention of Oseary who has been her manager and friend. Madonna wrote, “A Polaroid taken by Andy Warhol of Keith Haring wearing a jacket with Michael Jackson’s face painted on it. A perfect triangle of Brilliance.” She also added that she cried seeing the special gift, “I sobbed when I opened this gift because I realized how lucky I am to be alive. And how fortunate I am to have known these people and so many others who are also gone. Thank you @guyoseary for this gift! And Thank you to all my angels who protected me and let me Stay to finish doing my work!”

Previously on Thursday, she promoted the 40th anniversary of her debut album ‘Lucky Star’ where she said, “To be able to move my body and dance just a little bit makes me feel like the Luckiest Star in the world!”

Who is Guy Oseary?

Guy Oseary is a 50-year-old Israeli-American talent manager whose clientele includes the likes of Madonna and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Born to a Jewish family in Jerusalem, he was raised in California where he attended Beverly Hills High School. He is married to the Brazilian model Michelle Alves and has four children together. On the professional front, he has served as executive producer for Maverick Films through which he executive produced films like ‘House of 1000 Corpses’, ‘The Devil's Rejects’ and for films of ‘The Twilight Saga’ - ‘Twilight’, ‘New Moon’, ‘Eclipse’, ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 1’.

While he is respected as Madonna’s long-standing manager, he also served as the link between Madonna and her innumerable fans during the pop icon’s illness. On June 28, Oseary made a post on his Instagram informing the ‘Papa Don’t Preach’ singer was hospitalized after being found responsive on Jue 24. He wrote, “On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several-day stay in the ICU. required her to stay in the ICU for several days. Her health is improving, however, she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.”

The post continued, “At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which include the tour. We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.”

Page Six further reported that Oseary updated on June 28 that Madonna was recovering after her "several-day stay in the ICU.” Apart from her illness, Oseary supported the ‘Frozen’ singer during her grueling preparation for ‘The Celebration Tour’ also. He said, “Madonna is really turning it out. She is in incredible shape and is going to kill it with this tour.”

Talking about the significance of the tour, he further added, “It may be her last tour, so she wants to make it perfect. She is incredible shape and her body is sick. This is her labor of love. Her perfectionism is driving everyone up the wall but she does not care. The crew is working their a** off because everyone wants to make her happy. She has no issues whatsoever with firing someone at the drop of a hat.”

'He was always the voice of reason'

Previously in an interview with Variety, Madonna termed Oseary her “Ride or Die.” the Queen of Pop quipped, “I was always the adventurous, crazy one,” before adding about Oseary’s influence on her decision-making, “As soon as Guy would get a little look of fear in his eyes, I’d think it was a good idea. I would use him as a weathervane.”

When they first met, Oseary was just 18 and both of them were mischievous. However, Oseary slowly took the parental role as the ‘Material Girl’ singer said, “As the years went by, he took on a more of a parental role.”

Being the voice of reason, Oseary would also suggest she tone down elaborate staging during tours. As Madonna said, “He would try to get me to do less production because then I would have less overhead and make more money,” before adding, “He was always the voice of reason.”
