On his podcast, Joe Rogan highlighted the greatest elbow combo and undervalued MMA finishes, revealing top fighters

AUSTIN, TEXAS: Joe Rogan discussed the "greatest elbow combination" while reviewing some of the most underappreciated finishes in MMA history during one of the episodes of his podcast, 'The Joe Rogan Experience.' Rogan, a controversial UFC commentator also revealed the top MMA fighter, according to him.

Rogan feels the best combination of elbows ever thrown in MMA occurred in a 2012 fight between Tyron Woodley and Nate Marquardt. Rogan reflected on the 2012 fight between Woodley and Marquardt for the vacant Strikeforce welterweight belt.

'One of the greatest elbow combinations ever'

At the time, 'The Great' was regarded as one of the division's most promising players, while 'The Chosen One' had yet to taste defeat. Their back-and-forth fight lasted until the fourth round, when Marquardt KO'd Woodley with a nasty combination of elbow punches, uppercuts, and hooks.

It's the "greatest" elbow combination in MMA, according to Rogan. He stated, "Have you ever seen Nate Marquardt versus Tyron Woodley in Strikeforce? It's one of the greatest elbow combinations ever."

He further added, "Like a goddamn video game. This is when Nate Marquardt was one of top fighters on earth but people didn't really get to know him. He didn't get famous in America. Oh! Oh! and again..watch this! Boom."

'I don't have a problem with Ariel'

In another episode, Rogan invited WWE legend Ric Flair to the JRE show. 'The Nature Boy' discussed the wrestling industry and his quirky lifestyle before the podcast host caught the 74-year-old off guard when Flair mistook, Canadian journalist, Ariel Helwani and UFC president, Dana White for friends.

Rogan told Flair about Helwani's show, The MMA Hour, where he began following his feud with White. The 55-year-old also commented on the Canadian journalist. He stated, "I don't have a problem with Ariel. I like Ariel. I think his show is great and he is really good at interviewing people. He gets a lot of great athletes on, great fighters on."

After describing the show, Flair became confused once more and mistaken Helwani for a previous boxer, wondering whether he was a 'rough' guy. According to the WWE Hall of Famer, "Ariel is pretty tough too, right?"

Rogan was aware of the error but went along, playfully asking Flair whether he was afraid of Helwani. He said, "Are you scared of him?" Flair, taken off guard by the inquiry, asserted emphatically that he wasn't by stating bluntly, "No."
