William H Macy reportedly admitted to his neighbor that he had allowed his workmen to carry out the act of bringing down healthy trees

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: William H Macy has responded back to the allegation from his neighbor of chopping off landscapers at his property. The 'Shameless' star spoke against the accusations in Los Angeles, Pierce Brown, submitted in a $600,000 lawsuit. The next-door neighbor went to Los Angeles, Superior Court in April, and alleged that the Oscar-nominated actor ‘knowingly and intentionally’ asked a team of landscapers to destroy and remove ‘several healthy, decades-old mature pine trees and other vegetation from the Brown Property.’

As per court documents filed on May 31, Macy’s legal representative “denies, generally and specifically, each and every allegation” of wrongdoing. The submission demands that the entire case be dismissed with prejudice, claiming that Brown himself was ‘careless, reckless, and negligent in and about the matters and things alleged.’ Brown's first complaint reads that ‘in accessing the Brown Property, Macy's workers damaged the gate that connected the two properties’ and caused ‘damage to and destabilization of the hillside itself,’ as per People.

'To protect persons from death or serious bodily injury'

According to Brown’s lawyers, Macy admitted to his neighbor that he had allowed his workmen to carry out the act of bringing down healthy trees. Macy’s new filing defends his actions were ‘committed due to an immediate and imperative necessity… to protect persons from death or serious bodily injury or to protect land or chattel from destruction or injury. Interestingly, this lawsuit comes amid the jail sentencing of Macy’s wife Felicity Huffman, who was named among several parents entangled in the 2019 ‘Operation Varsity Blues’ college admissions cheating scandal.

The 60-year-old actor pled guilty to conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud, which led him to stay in prison for 11 days, a year of supervised release, and a $30,000 fine.

'Huffman has been charged with felony conspiracy to commit mail fraud'

In its report, Vulture said Huffman has been charged with felony conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud, for the part she played in the scam. In the aftermath of the Oscar-nominated actress' arrest, however, one question arose; why wasn't William H Macy, Huffman's fellow Oscar-nominee husband's name in the complaint? The complaint states that the witness "explained, in substance, how the college entrance exam scheme worked," reports MEAWW.
