The National Security Council spokesperson, John Kirby, appeared on 'The View' to talk about the nation's role in de-escalating the ongoing conflict

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On ‘The View’, co-host Joy Behar recently interviewed the spokesperson of the National Security Council, John Kirby, questioning him about the threat of a wider war in the Middle East region if the Israel-Hamas conflict continues.

Kirby assured Behar that President Joe Biden and the nation were working tirelessly to avoid such conflict and have informed other countries in the region to refrain from taking "advantage" of the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

The 81-year-old listened to Kirby but didn’t respond with a suggestion of calling a ceasefire in Gaza, given the massive loss of life. This didn’t sit well with the fans of the show who are now slamming all the hosts for apparently turning insensitive to the plight of people in Gaza.

John Kirby informs Joy Behar about the US' strong message to the Middle East

John Kirby came on 'The View' to address all doubts circling in the minds of the hosts regarding the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

Amid the interview, Joy Behar asked, "How worried should Americans be about a much wider war breaking out?"

The National Security Council spokesperson replied, "What I would tell Americans is that what President Biden is doing, over the last couple of weeks is designed to prevent that exact scenario, to prevent escalation, to prevent any other actor from jumping in here and deepen and widen this conflict."

He added, "We are sending strong messages privately, and of course publicly, to any other actor in the region that this is not the time to try to take advantage of it."

Fans slam ‘The View’ for failing to question John Kirby about a possible ceasefire in Gaza

While Joy Behar’s doubts were removed after John Kirby’s assuring statement, 'The View' fans were extremely disappointed that the host didn’t ask the spokesperson about wanting a ceasefire in the region.

An X (formerly Twitter) user wrote, "Shame on the Ladies of the View. By not asking Kirby (OR ANYONE) about a ceasefire, you are wasting your platform."

Another added, "These women know nothing out of their elitist bubble," while a person claimed, "Why is she still allowed to be on the show? She constantly lies and says false information."

One more opined, "Joy, it’s your boy Biden and his failed foreign policies, his inability at foreign relations & inability to respond to crucial situations that has us on the brink of WWW III!"
