The number of rounds was increased from eight to ten at the request of Nate Diaz, who's willing to fight Jake Paul

CLEVELAND, OHIO: Jake Paul has accepted a last-minute change in regulations for his eagerly awaited boxing comeback match against Nate Diaz. The former UFC superstar and the former YouTuber-turned-boxer will square off inside the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, on August 5.

Due to the fact that this is going to be Diaz's first fight as a professional boxer, it has considerably more significance. Hence, as per Diaz's request, the fight initially scheduled for eight rounds has now been extended to include 10 for a more prolonged bout.

‘10 rounds confirmed’

Paul recently agreed to extend the scheduled rounds to 10 because of Diaz's willingness to take on the challenge. He tweeted, “Nate Diaz wants 10 rounds. I guess he has good cardio. Ok Nathan, 10 rounds it is.” The Texas Combative Sports Program's clearance of the 10-round fight was previously pending, but the most recent developments suggest things are headed in the right direction.

The news of the 10-round fight has now been officially verified by Paul through a tweet, in which he wrote, “10 rounds confirmed. #PaulDiaz August 5th.” After suffering his first setback, a split-decision loss to Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia in February, Jake Paul will be competing in his eighth professional boxing battle in this match. On the other hand, Nate Diaz left the UFC on a winning note after defeating Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 in September.

‘It ain’t going past 3’

After Paul’s recent tweet about the match, fans were quick enough to leave their comments. A fan wrote, “It ain’t going past 3,” while another fan said, “real boxers do 12 rounds.” “Watch out for the slap. He’s crazy powerful in certain situations,” wrote another pointing out Diaz's moves. “Meanwhile KSI only fights 6 round fights, You’re my goat and my inspiration Jake,” stated a fan appreciating Paul. However, there were some who even criticized Paul, with one saying, “Yours going to get another loss,” while another displeased follower added, “Why don't you stop making joke fights..! Why not fight boxers not mma has beens???” “They talk about jakes power. We haven't seen it his last 2 fights,” wrote one pointing to Paul's recent defeats, while another user expressed, “You fought a boxer and even tho you lost, you were going in the right direction. Fighting better competition…. Now it’s back to retired MMA fighters? cmon man no one cares about this fight.”
