After Judge Thomas Anderle informed Christine Baumgartner that their prenuptial agreement would be enforced, she signed off on a three-page settlement deal

SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA: Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner have finally put an end to their tumultuous divorce after four months of legal war.

After Judge Thomas Anderle informed Baumgartner that their prenuptial agreement would be enforced, she signed off on a three-page settlement deal.

If the model opts to fight the agreement, she will have to repay over $1 million to her estranged husband and also to pay his legal fees, reported TMZ.

How much money will Christine Baumgartner get from Kevin Costner in divorce settlement?

While the exact terms of the settlement are not disclosed, TMZ noted that Christine Baumgartner's previous request for $850,000 attorney fees has been dropped.

However, she is set to receive more money from Costner as compared to what was initially outlined in their prenuptial agreement.

The 49-year-old filed for divorce from Costner in May 2023, ending their 18-year marriage. Together, the former couple has three children -- Grace Avery Costner, Hayes Logan Costner, and Cayden Wyatt Costner.

What made Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner's divorce contentious?

One of the most contentious aspects of Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner's divorce was the handbag designer's demand for $250,000 in child support, which the 'Draft Day' actor and his legal team opposed as they expressed concerns that the funds might be used for her cosmetic surgery.

Costner and Baumgartner had signed a prenuptial agreement before their marriage in 2004.

In July, the judge ordered Baumgartner to vacate their shared estate and she eventually relocated to a $40,000-per-month rental property in Montecito, California.

In a legal victory for Baumgartner, the 68-year-old actor was ordered to pay her $129,000 in child support, which was double his desired amount. Eventually, the figure was reduced to $63,000 per month.

"This is a horrible place to be, but this is where we’re at. It feels so bad. We’re talking about somebody I love on the other side. I just can’t," said Costner who publicly expressed his disappointment over the situation, reported Access Hollywood.

Kevin Costner 'does not hate' his estranged wife Christine Baumgartner

Before the divorce settlement, 'Swing Vote' actor Kevin Costner maintained a positive attitude about the case despite him and Christine Baumgartner refusing to talk to each other in person.

"Kevin doesn’t hate Christine, but he does want a clean break. Of course, there are resentments and animosity, but that comes with the territory, and he’s trying not to make it personal," said an insider.

"They are only speaking through intermediaries. Kevin would rather use the silent treatment than deal with Christine directly anymore," added another source.
