'Late Night' host Seth Meyers took aim at Donald Trump's confrontational attitude during the civil fraud trial

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In a recent airing of his show, NBC's 'Late Night', Seth Meyers humorously criticized former President Donald Trump for his conduct during his current civil fraud trial in New York.

Drawing a comparison, Meyers likened Trump to a "blue-collar dad at a fancy restaurant," emphasizing the ex-president's confrontational demeanor throughout the NYC fraud trial.

Donald Trump gets into multiple altercations during NYC fraud trial

During his current civil fraud trial in New York, former President Donald Trump has allegedly been involved in numerous disputes.

Reports suggest that Trump's testimony frequently deviated from the main issue, resulting in Judge Arthur Engoron admonishing him on nearly a dozen occasions.

Trump reportedly had multiple altercations with the judge, leading to intense exchanges, per BBC. The judge even questioned Trump's lawyer about his ability to manage his client, stressing that the courtroom was not a venue for political rallies.

Despite these events, the trial is ongoing, with the primary objective being to ascertain the penalties for the purported fraud.

Seth Meyers trolls Donald Trump

Seth Meyers initiated the segment by stating that Trump displayed a combative and uncooperative demeanor during his testimony. He pointed out that Trump couldn't even get through the initial thirty minutes of his testimony without engaging in multiple confrontations with the judge and getting "yelled out."

Meyers continued after cutting into a news video of Trump's testimony and stated, "That's how it started. They couldn't even make it 25 minutes without having to wrangle him like they're trying to give medicine to a cat."

Meyers added, "He was supposedly the Commander-in-Chief. He can't even get through one day in court without getting into like nine different fights within the first 25 minutes."

The host continued his jesting, likening Trump to a "blue-collar dad at a fancy restaurant, immediately furious he didn't get bread right away."

Meyers continued, mimicking Trump's distinctive tone, "What kind of horse hockey is this? I want butter, not a dish full of chopped-up olives. And why the hell is everyone wearing a suit? This is a restaurant, not a funeral. Of course, I wouldn't be surprised if someone dropped dead when they saw these prices. Screw this, I'm going to the Golden Corral. I told the valet guy just tell me where you parked it."

Seth Meyers finds the reporting on court proceedings 'exasperating'

The host continued by switching to a news clip of a reporter detailing the court proceedings. Meyers described this as a somewhat exasperating method of keeping up with the court events. He compared it to listening to a "hockey game on NPR," where the action is intense, but the narration can be perplexing.

Later, Meyers quickly read a spine-tingling report from his chair, "Yes, Mr Trump waved his hands and pursed his lips. Then he moved them in and out like he was playing an invisible accordion. Then he began drawing little boxes with his fingers and pointing to his head, saying, 'I understand the rules. I have them all up here in my big brain.' Then the judge shot back, 'You're not acting like you know the rules'."

"Then Trump said, 'Am, too.' And the judge said, 'Am not.' Then Trump said 'Am, too.' Then the judge said, 'Am not.' Then Trump said, 'It smells like updog in here.' Then the judge said, 'I'm not falling for that.' Then Trump said, 'I don't know, dog. What's up with you?' Then the judge said, 'You can't just act like I fell for it. Loser says what?' Then Trump said, 'What?' Then the judge said, 'You said what. That means you're a loser.' Then Trump got angry and screamed, 'This is warfare! No, wait. It's lawfare. No wait. It's law unfair.'" he continued.

The host went on, "Then he got up and tried to storm out of the courtroom, but his tie got stuck in the door and he fell backwards and split his pants and threw up on himself, and the judge called a recess."

"And Trump said, 'The judge [bleep] in my pants.' And the judge said, 'No, I didn't." Then Trump said, 'Then how did [bleep] get in my pants?' Then the judge said, 'Maybe it was updog.' Then Trump said, 'What's updog?' Then the judge said, 'I don't know. what's up with you? And the entire courtroom laughed. Back to you, Kate'," Meyers ended creating a roar of laughter.
